The chick behind the lense- Annette McNamara

About a year ago I showed up to do Makeup for my good friend David Molnar’s photoshoot. I have to admit, I always get a little nervous every time I work a photo shoot. This was the day I met this peach of a girl, Annette. She was David’s newest assistant, and she put me right at ease. We had so much fun, I think we annoyed David:) We worked together a ton on David’s shoots and ended up realizing we were way more connected than we knew! I admire her desire to work hard at her craft! It’s inspiring! She’s one of the sweetest, caring people I know. Oh, and she’s a a super talented photographer, and just SUPER FUN. Anyone else that dyes their hair pink… A OK in my book. I am thrilled to be featuring her and want you to get to know all about her! Meet Annette!

I LOVE photography… but you know what I love even more… People! My love of photography does not just come from knowing the technical aspects of a camera, but from the human spirit that steps in front of the camera.  Everyone has a story to tell and my mission is to help others visually tell their stories through the power of photography. Photography is one of the only art forms that can actually freeze time and leave behind an icon or a legacy. It can also be a truly powerful tool to inform the world of pain, suffering, and struggle, but also absolute joy, rejoicing, and celebrating. There is power in photography; it can unite and it can immediately transport you back to that exact moment in time when then shutter was pushed. Talk about amazing!

I specialize in portrait, advertising, commercial, and music photography, but if you have a story to tell, no matter what that story is, I would love to help you capture it!

What’s your fave song right now?  Castle on the Hill by Ed Sheeran
What’s your favorite style to wear?  Black on Black on Black… pretty much anything black 🙂
What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?  Twizzlers Pull and Peel…. they are my road trip must have
What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item you can’t live with out?  Urban Decay all nighter Makeup Setting Spray Long-Lasting! My makeup use to melt off my face. You know like you look awesome when you walk out the door, and an hour later you look like you didn’t even put any on! This stuff is AMAZING!!!
Who’s the most influential person in your life and why? My mom…. she has always said.. “If I could reach the stars I’d give them all to you” which was taken from a Cher song… that isn’t exactly the most positive song ever… but those words are. She has always encouraged me and my sisters to pursue our dreams and live a happy fulfilled life.

What’s the 1 thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet? A cover of Rolling Stone or to have someone pay me to travel abroad.
What’s your favorite thing in your closet? My Guess black high heels. I don’t get the chance to wear high heels often, and usually they kill my feet, but these are actually really comfortable. When I put these on I feel pretty powerful!  Pretty much if I’m wearing these and I having matching undergarments, I feel like I could take on the world 🙂
What’s your fave inspirational quote? “Only those who dare to dream can make a dream come true.”   it was from a poem on a key chain I got as a kid… and I’ve always thought it was awesome. I still have the keychain!
