I won’t make you wait any longer, meet Caroline!!
My name is Caroline Acree, and I’m the founder & blogger of Caroline Margaret Studio. I’m also the Operations & Marketing Director at American Songwriter Magazine. Caroline Margaret Studio is my styled Nashville experience. Nashville has been my home since I was a little girl. For more than five years, I harvested a collection of style articles under the name COSMICaroline. Just over the last year, I transitioned into my new brand. Caroline Margaret Studio is my heart. It features style and fashion, but there’s also travel, health & wellness, cinemagraphs, lifestyle, culture, and more. It’s a way to showcase every moment I love so dearly in the most honest and open way I possibly can.
What’s Your Fave Song right now?
I’m a serial listener, so I’m currently playing “FourFiveSeconds” on repeat. It’s an epic clash of titans. I’ve always loved Rihanna’s unique voice. Pair her with the intelligent musicianship of Paul McCartney and hard edge of Kanye? Hook, line and sinker. I’ve also got Alt-J’s “Hunger of the Pine” blaring non-stop.
What’s your favorite style to wear?
In the past year, I went through a serious style transition. As I found confidence within myself and refined my style, I realized I’m most attracted to a comfortable balance of Nashville cool + a hint of sex appeal. I think there’s an art to showcasing your curves, while still honoring true sense of style. I love to throw on a midi pencil skirt, a loose denim button-down, and a strappy pair of stiletto sandals or dynamic boots. I always feel most confident when I’m a little bit undone. Check out my style transition here!
What’s Your Guilty Pleasure Snack Go-To?
Chinese Take-Out. It’s not even a snack, it’s just dangerous. Don’t even give me the menu. I’ll order everything, eat it all, and not even think twice! Dumplings and lo mein? Watch Out!
What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item you can’t live without?
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray
. Even when my hair is freshly washed, I spray this all over to add volume and texture. It smells awesome and lasts forever. Because of the amount of lion’s mane on my head, washing my hair isn’t an everyday activity. Dry shampoo is necessary. I’ve tried every single brand, and this is the absolute best.
Who’s the most influential person in your life?
Impossible question. I’m the luckiest girl in the world to be surrounded by such beautiful people, inside and out. We thrive on open-ended loyalty, generosity, and support for one another . As such a close bunch, I couldn’t possibly pick just one. Every single person inspires and influences in an equally wonderful manner.
What’s the 1 thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?
Travel further. I’ve got a long list of places I want to go. I’m lucky to have already done some serious traveling, but I’ve got a lifetime to go everywhere. I’d like to cross more oceans and see more than I ever imagined to exist. It’s an ongoing goal, and honestly, I hope I never accomplish it. I don’t want to ever feel like I’ve seen it all.
What’s your favorite thing in your closet?
This disgustingly crunchy vintage grey fur coat I bought in 2008. It’s too big, and the lining is ripped to shreds. I snagged it for 30 bones, and even though I rarely wear it in public, it’s still my favorite. It was the first piece of vintage I ever purchased with my own money. I could travel to the Arctic in that coat and still not notice it’s cold outside. It’s too embarrassing to wear in public, but I’ll never get rid of it, Ever.
What’s your favorite inspirational quote?
Zoe Saldana during her interview with Amanda de Cadenet for The Conversation. She was discussing self confidence and boldly stated, “I know who I am. I love who I am. I like what I do, and I like how I do it. I like my mistakes and I like the pace at which I learn from my mistakes. I don’t want to be anybody else but me, and by knowing this, I want to continue figuring out who the F### I am.”
