For the Love of Shaylee Simeone.

Volume-2_digital

When I met this chicky a few years back, I thought one thing right away. I like her hair. I mean she has great hair. It’s pretty and blonde. Pretty much perfect. Oh yah, I of course got to know her and realize she was not only sweet and super nice, but UBER talented. Her voice is like a choir of baby angels singing your favorite disney song while you are enjoying coffee and your favorite donuts. Ok, what i’m trying to say is , SHE’S AMAZING. So, i’ve been waiting to feature her and I’m so excited you guys finally get to meet her if you don’t already know her! Her current album, For Love of The Sea Vol 1, is so good you won’t want to stop listening to it. You can check it out RIGHT HERE. You can also check out her killer video here!

Shaylee is an indie-pop artist with an honest breath and hopeful song. She’s a Nashville transplant from Dallas, TX. Her album, echoing its namesake, features her soothing voice as it rises and falls among rhythmic crashes, unpredictable and addicting. She’s been featured on the Women of Substance Podcast, and has won several national songwriting awards. In 2013 her EP Strange Bird landed in the Top 10 on iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts. Channeling an artful language of transparency, she continues to offer a genuine relationship with her audience. Layering the depths of her lyrics with warm and curious melodies, Volume II of Shaylee’s For the Love of the Sea is set to release in Fall 2016. OK, let’s get to know her!!

What’s your fave song right now?

This changes daily lol. Probably “Needed Me” by Rhianna at the moment. So dark and twisty and catchy. NO JUDGIES. 🙂
What’s your favorite style to wear?
Lately I’ve been into loose fitting, comfy shirts with jeans. I also am drawn towards stripes and neutral colors, which is super weird for me!
What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?
Salt and Vinegar kettle chips. I could go through an entire bag by myself. But I would never do that LOL. (…….)
What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item you can’t live with out?
Mascara. Seeing as how my eyelashes are virtually see-through without it. #blondeprobs

Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?
My husband, Ryan. Marriage is the most refining process I have ever been through, and I am daily challenged and encouraged by him. He pushes me to be better, he isn’t afraid to tell me when I’m acting like a hot mess, and he supports me and my lofty dreams. He has changed me, so I’d say that’s pretty influential 😉
What’s the 1 thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?
I would love to write a song with one of my musical heroes: Brooke Fraser, Ingrid Michaelson or Andrew McMahon. They have really shaped me as a songwriter, so I’d probably pee my pants if I was ever able to collaborate with them.

What’s your favorite thing in your closet?
Right now I can’t seem to leave my closet without wearing some sort of flow-y kimono. My favorite one at the moment is black with multi-colored flowers all over it. Just love it!
What’s your fave inspirational quote?
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”Mark Twain
I’ve always loved that, and I’ve always loved travelling. It really does open your eyes and make you appreciate how far the world stretches and how interesting people are.
