The Honey Print, Meet Blythe

I love meeting new people! My whole life I have been drawn to others who are uplifting, kind, and just are going for what they love to do, all while lifting up others at the same time. I started following Blythe for those very reasons. Then when I met her IRL, It just confirmed all of those thoughts I already had. She is one of the sweetest people I know, and I love reading her blog and following her on IG. I always leave inspired and pumped up with new information! That’s the point of a blog right!? I’m so thrilled to be finally featuring her on the blog, so meet The Honey Print herself, Blythe!

I’m Blythe, and I was born and raised in Nashville. I love to write and majored in creative writing in college. I worked at a magazine after graduating, but shortly thereafter, I became interested in teaching and earned my master’s in education. I currently work full-time as a reading intervention teacher, but still have the opportunity to write through my blog, The Honey Print. I post about my lifestyle, Nashville, travel, home and more. I still write creatively, too, and just had my first poem published! In my free time, you can find me sipping green tea with a good book in hand, attending a play or musical (I did theatre all through school and love it!), walking a trail in Percy Warner Park, playing my guitar, or cheering on my Preds at a hockey game.

What’s your favorite song right now?

I have the Hamilton soundtrack on all the time. I am so lucky to have seen it on Broadway last year, and I still can’t get enough. My favorite song is “Helpless.”

What’s your favorite style to wear?

I go for comfort and coziness this time of year because I’m always cold! In the winter, I’m typically wearing a soft, knit oversized sweater, leggings, and boots. In the summer, though, I’m all about sundresses. I’m very petite and usually shop LOFT or ASOS petites.

What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?

I eat pretty healthily so I can’t say I’m too guilty about any snacks! 😉 My favorite snack-go-to is definitely hummus with pita chips or carrots.

What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item that you can’t live with out?

Mascara. I have long lashes and love to make them bolder! Clinique mascara is perfect for that.

Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?

My parents. I feel so blessed to live where my family lives and have the opportunity to see them whenever I want. They have always inspired me to be independent and self-reliant, and they support me in all decisions that I make.

What’s the one thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?

I would love to write a book. 🙂 I’ve got time.

If you could give someone some great life advice, what would it be?

I would say to do what fulfills you. Often, we feel pressure to live the loudest and most exciting life. But many people are happy living quiet, simple lives. I think you should do what makes you happy, ignore the pressure, and stay true to you.

What’s your fave inspirational quote?

“I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.” -E.B. White. Maybe not inspirational, but very me.

Where is one place you’d love to travel to?

Scandinavia. Particularly Denmark, because I’ve gotten really into hygge. I realized I already live a pretty hyggelig life. I’m all about coziness, candles, and togetherness.

What drives you and gives you passion in your profession?

People. In teaching, my drive comes from creating wonderful relationships with students and watching them grow. In blogging, it’s connecting with a community and feeling supported. In writing, my passion grows from being present in every moment and gaining inspiration through experiences with others.
