The Momma of Cheesecakes, Momma Nik!

A few months back I was at a networking mixer and I spotted these cute little mini cheesecakes across the room. It was love at first sight. And second, and third…let’s just say I had a few. Then I met the baker behind the cheesecake, Niki!

We instantly clicked and I knew we could be great friends! (Not just because she makes scrumptious cheesecakes). I loved her bubbly personality, and sweet spirit. I also loved that she was also a #bossbabe. #bosslady. #bosschick. Whatever you want to call it, she’s the boss. She’s dedicated, and works so hard, and she is living her dream! I loved spending the day with her in her bakery. We had a blast, and even some of the Tennessee Titans came in! I heard the story of how she got started. Her name comes from her mama! She’s little Niki, and her mom is the original. Her hubby didn’t want to be disrespectful by calling his mother in law “Big Niki” so he called her Momma Nik. The recipe is also her mama’s recipe. So you get the point! She could make these cheesecakes in her sleep she’s made them so many times. They are SO tasty. I actually think I gained 5 lbs. this weekend because she sent me home with one and I’ve eaten my fair share of it for sure! My fave is the traditional with chocolate chips, and the pumpkin ones were really yummy too!

Well, I’m so excited for you guys to get to know her! If you are in Nashville, be sure to stop by her shop! She also sells her cheesecake in a jar a ton of places, and she ships them! You can find them HERE! OH, and I’m super thrilled that she is selling a ton of goodies in her shop from my shop, The Perfect Little Store!!!! Meet Momma Nik herself, NIKI!!!

Tell us about yourself!

So, I’m Niki, the owner of Momma Nik’s Cheesecake! Momma Nik’s was never really the plan, I was a stay at home mom at the time, however when one door opens…. I always walk through!
I was a part of the PTA, for my daughters preschool and brought cheesecake with me to every bake sale, mothers luncheon etc.
When requests started coming in for personal orders and gatherings, it was time to make a decision. Do we press on and open up shop or close it all down? Clearly, we didn’t close it all down and now have a fun little shop located in Brentwood, where we serve fresh cheesecake daily as well as other local offerings, entertaining pretties and gifts.
The name Momma Nik’s is a nod to my mother, actually, and a huge part of why we have a shop to begin with! Our Original cheesecake is actually her recipe and the base for all of our flavors we have created!
My mother was born in Greece and with that, I also come from a long line of Nikis. Growing up my mother and I were always referred to as Big Niki and Little Niki and as we ladies all know, most of us do not like being called “big” anything, lol! So, my now husband dubbed her Momma Nik and we couldn’t think of a better way to honor her!
Thanks for taking the time to read a peak into my journey!

What’s your fave song right now?

Favorite song is Home by Johnnyswim, or anything really by them

What’s your favorite style to wear?

I would describe by look as versatile comfort if that is such a thing? Being a baker and mom of three little ones, the majority of closet can handle a mess, a meeting and sticky hands, lol!

What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?

Right now my guilty pleasure are those chocolate covered Ritz crackers! Luckily for waistline they are limited edition!

What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item you can’t live with out?

Must have beauty item is my brow pencil! It just makes me feel like I look awake, even if I don’t necessarily feel that way.

Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?

Most influential person for me is John Paul DiJoria. I still have a magazine clipping where he said “successful people do the things unsuccessful people will not do”. His story is a true rag to riches story and through everything, his motto is “success unshared is failure”. I just love the work ethic he has and how humble and compassionate he remains even with all of his monetary successes.

What’s the 1 thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?

I would like to go back and finish school some day… I started out in interior design and would love to officially check that off my list with a degree!

What’s your favorite thing in your closet?

Right now, one of my favorites are my infinity scarves, nothing like having a blanket around your neck when it’s cold outside.

What’s your fave inspirational quote?

This is much easier to say than practice, for me anyway, “but if you’re going to pray, why worry and if you’re going to worry, why pray??”img_7396 img_7394 img_7392 img_7391 img_7389-2 img_7388 img_7387 img_7386 img_7385 img_7384 img_7383 img_7380 img_7381 img_7378
