National Tequila Day with Altos Tequila

I’m always throwing a party, or having some type of event! And If you know me, you know I love hosting family and friends especially when we can genuinely connect over food and drinks!  Which is why I’m so thrilled to be partnering with Altos Tequila for #nationalTequilaDay !

Altos Tequila embraces the family connection and togetherness that bring family and friends together over food, drink, conversation, and lifestyles. Um, hello, this company knows my heart to the core!I love how that is so important to them as a company. I can support someone like that! This company noticed the gap between really inexpensive tequila and very expensive tequila and wanted to make something authentically produced and hand crafted. I’d say they succeeded at bridging that gap!

Altos Tequila is 100% blue agave. Master Distiller Jesus Hernandez is responsible for supervising production from the initial harvest of the agave plants, to the end result, the bottle. Their tequilas are exclusively produced in the heart of Los Altos, 7,000 feet above sea level in the western state of Jalisco in Mexico, and are created, in part, using the 500-year-old traditional Tahona method, before being distilled in copper pot stills. Altos offers three tequilas – Plata, Reposado and Añejo – and is one of the only tequila brands in the world that still uses the ancient Tahona wheel to crush our roasted agave.

We decided to make their Paloma, using the PLATA tequila. I know I made it, but it’s one of the best Palmoa’s I’ve ever had! We hosted friends for grilled chicken, corn, and of course chips and various tasty salsa’s! So we made enough of 6 in a pitcher ! Here’s their delicious recipe, which you can also find on their site along with tons of other awesome recipes!

CRAFTED PALOMA

INGREDIENTS:
Altos Plata 2 parts
Fresh pink grapefruit juice 2 parts
Lemon juice 1 part
Agave syrup ½ part
Salt RIM with Pink Himalayan Salt( I added this because I love pink!)

DIRECTIONS:
Frost the glass rim with salt and crushed pink peppercorns.

Pour all the ingredients except the grapefruit juice into the glass.

Mix using the ALTOS molinillo to dissolve the agave syrup.

Fill the glass with ice and finish with the pink grapefruit juice.

Garnish with half slice of pink grapefruit.
