A Short Blonde- Meet Catherine
Nashville is such a cool community to be a part of. I really do feel so lucky to live here. I believe this is a place people come to create, build community, and to follow dreams. That’s why we moved here! So to be a part of this blogger community, makes me so grateful! I get to meet so many awesome women, and Catherine is one of them! I’ve been following along with her on social media for quite some time now! She had me at blonde! LOL! I love all she is doing and am daily inspired by her! I like to follow people that make me feel like I can be a better person! I’m so excited to be featuring her on the blog today! So meet my new friend, Catherine AKA –A Short Blonde!
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
Hi, I’m Catherine! My husband, Jordan, and I are Chicago natives, but we’ve called Nashville home for three years now. We miss Chicago, but we don’t miss the winters. 😉 I have a B.A. in Psychology, but life (as it does!) took me in a different direction. Jordan and I own, LUUM, a design and creative team, based in Nashville. I enjoy helping lifestyle brands tell a story. I started blogging in High School (anyone remember Livejournal?) but ashortblonde is my passion project.
Our son, Phoenix, was born last summer! We are learning to navigate these early parenting years one day at a time. He’s such a joy.
For me, it’s important to stretch my mind, travel far, and always have a stash of dark chocolate.
What’s your favorite song right now?
Prom by SZA. If you aren’t listening to her album, Ctrl, you are missing out!
What’s your favorite style to wear?
I recently told a coworker when I was in my early twenties it was cool to look like you were a 35 year-old lawyer. I wore pointy-toed shoes, button-ups, and trousers! As a mom of a toddler, I gravitate towards sporty-chic. If you run into me around town, I’m most likely wearing jeans, a slouchy tee, and birkenstocks.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?
Chocolate chip cookies. I wouldn’t say I feel guilty about them because I eat cookies often. 😉
What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item that you can’t live without?
I enjoy wearing makeup, but concealer is an everyday must. I’m very pale and so even if/when I get a full nights sleep, I still look like a zombie. Right now I rotate between Tarte’s Shapetape and IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Undereye.
Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?
My best friend, Lauren. We’ve been friends since middle school and she’s partly why my husband and I moved to Nashville. She is smart and driven, but takes the time to invest in people.
What’s the one thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?
This question could be answered in so many different ways! It’s been a dream of mine to spend a summer renting a house in a small European town. I don’t want to be concerned with baby-proofing, so I’d rather wait until Phoenix is in Elementary school.
What’s your favorite thing in your closet?
I struggled for a long time to find the perfect fitting jeans. Last year, after having my son, I fell in love with Levi’s 721 Highwaisted Skinny Jeans. They contain the right amount of stretch, so everything is held in place, without stretching out completely.
