Long before I met today’s Guest Feature, I was incredibly inspired by her. I started following her on IG a long time ago because not only was I inspired by her amazing eye for design, but her love for Bright and Happy colors majorly spoke to my soul. I love anything colorful, so as soon as I looked at her blog and all she had done, I fell in love! Greg and I were fortunate enough to team up with her recently on one of her projects. She hired us to draw a floral chalk mural on one of her clients beautiful homes, and it was a blast! Not only do I love her design style, but her fashion style as well. Also, anyone that loves City House as much as I do… is ok with me! That’s why I knew I had to feature her on the blog! I’m so excited for you to get to know her too! Meet Kendall!

Tell us about yourself!

I’m an interior designer and stylist based in Nashville, TN. I gather constant inspiration from art, design and my travels. I design each and every project with modern, yet classic details, and a healthy dose of color and surprise! With over 9 years of design experience in New York City, Nashville and beyond, I work to breath new life into each interior space that I work on.
After receiving an interior design degree from The University of Georgia, I gained valuable experience working for prestigious New York design firms Jed Johnson Associates and Campion Platt, and Nashville’s McAlpine Booth & Ferrier.
Each and every day that I walk into my office, I take pride in knowing that I’m working hard to beautify people’s homes. Your home is your sanctuary and your playground. It should be an extension of who you are as a person. No matter where you are in the world or what adventure you’re on – there’s no place like home.

What’s your fave song right now?
Wonderwall by Oasis. Champagne Supernova (also by Oasis) is a close second. Anything in the 90’s alternative genre makes me instantly happy!

What’s your favorite style to wear?
I’m not naturally inclined to enjoy following fashion trends, so I function best within the confines of a uniform! My closet is filled with basic black and white pieces that I mix and match.

What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?
Anything on the menu at City House! It’s my absolute favorite restaurant in Nashville. I love to pop in right when the bar opens at 5 for a drink and a snack. Their pizza is the best thing ever!

What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item you can’t live with out?
Chanel Inimitable mascara is the one thing in my makeup bag that I can’t live without. My makeup routine is fairly elementary, but as long as I have mascara I’m good to go!

Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?
There’s no question about this one! My husband Kane is my best friend, partner in crime and all-around support system. I could never have built my business without his help and sense of humor!

What’s the 1 thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?
The list is long! But if I had to pick just one thing, it’s seeing the whole world. I’m a traveller at heart, and I want to experience all of the beautiful, fascinating and inspiring things that each country has to offer. To quote Susan Sontag, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”

What’s your favorite thing in your closet?
Definitely my collection of handbags. They tend to be the items that I splurge on. I’m incredibly excited about a new custom handbag order with local Nashville designer Emil Erwin that I cannot wait to receive!

What’s your fave inspirational quote?
I’m a big reader and an enormous fan of the written word. Hemingway and Fitzgerald provide regular inspiration and ample quotes, but the quote that’s inspiring me to hustle these days is this:

Work hard in silence, let your success be your noise.
– Frank Ocean
