Vintage that Sparkles! Meet Erin!



Years ago I was attending church and heard the voice of an angel coming from up on the stage. I was blown away by this chick and was mesmerized by her vocals. Year after year I listened to her sing, and always looked forward to it. Then one day I met her and was like, whoa, she’s cool. THEN I found out she has the COOLEST style, and is one bad A** Vintage Shopper. Like the queen of shopping for cool, rad, vintage things. She actually sells and rents all of her amazing vintage finds, and I WANT ONE OF EACH. She’s also sweet as pie, and just a GOOD HUMAN. I LOVE GOOD HUMANS. SO, I figured you guys wanted to meet her too! So here she is, meet Erin!

Tell us about yourself!

My name is Erin Sparks and I run a boutique vintage furniture & prop rental business called Vintage Sparkle. I started VS in the summer of 2014 after attending my first estate sale. I have always been drawn to vintage furnishings but on that summer day, something sparked in me and a business was born. My first public appearance was at the Nashville Flea Market where I sold handmade and vintage home wares. I eventually opened an etsy shop- which I continue to stock regularly with vintage home decor. I stopped making things because I was terrible at it. {we’ll leave that to you, Abbey!}


About a year in, I started coming across some really special and unique pieces that I thought would be perfect for events and photo shoots. I had the idea to start a rental business so that people could have access to those one of a kind pieces when they needed them at an affordable price. My first rental job was sourcing 20 frames and mirrors for a high profile CMA awards after party. That was just over one year ago and we are rolling right along! I often joke that my furniture has a better social life than I do. They’ve been to CMA after parties, music festivals, cd release parties, VIP lounges, photo shoots, amazing weddings, celebrity birthday parties, corporate events- you name it! We moved into our first warehouse in October. I am so {SO} grateful for a business and life that I am passionate about.

What’s your fave song right now?

Fire and Dynamite by Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors- it’s my favorite song that no one’s ever heard..and anything by Grace Potter. She’s brilliant.

What’s your favorite style to wear?

Fringe!!! is that a style? I usually have some sort of fringe or tassel somewhere. For work, my “uniform” is a flannel over a tank with jeans, booties and a long wooden bead necklace.


What’s your guilty pleasure snack-go-to?

Nothing better than a hunk of brie or manchego and a glass or two of Cabernet after a long day!

What’s your MUST-HAVE beauty item you can’t live with out?

My diffuser! My hair doesn’t curl right without it.

Who’s the most influential person in your life and why?

My handsome and wise husband, Zak. I spend more time with him than anyone else so he has a huge influence on me. {no pressure, babe}

What’s the 1 thing you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet?

This sounds silly but.. I would really love to be able to dive. I’ve tried many times to learn but something about throwing my body into the air head first scares the crap out of me. I’d really love to conquer that fear.

What’s your favorite thing in your closet?

I recently bought a vintage snow white shaggy faux fur coat from Stephen Salyers’ {Dangerous Shreds} collection- apparently there were only two of them made and Kid Rock has the other one! That and my bedstu boots…I live in them.
