The Perfect Outdoor Friendsgiving

THANKSGIVINGThe expression of gratitude. Being Thankful. Being Grateful. Gathering with friends and family. Friends giving- all of these things AND celebrating with people you wish were your real family.

Check out our youtube episode from this Friendsgiving! Please share!

Tis the season to be thankful, so I thought hosting a Friendsgiving would be so fun! Why not have it out doors and invite other empowering women to join me! I invited different women that inspire me in some way! All the way from business owners, to bloggers, to moms and hairstylists. Each of them has pushed through hardships to follow their dreams and make them realities. Which I find VERY inspirational and motivating. I think it’s important as women to support each other and build one another up. That’s why I wanted a day where we all came together to celebrate friendship and accomplishment! They’ve each played a vital role in my life, and I wanted them to know that! I gathered with 8 of my Nashville friends, and we had an outdoor Friendsgiving 2018 to remember!

My friend Lindey has one of the dreamiest yards and she offered it up for us to have our friends giving celebration in! You could do this in your very own back yard, or a public park! Think outside the box! My other dear friend Caity, owns a company called The Happy Campers Nashville. They are a family owned, mobile event company. They truly can do it all, and when you see all they have to offer, you want them to do it all! This dreamy set up made our Friends Giving come to life. Using Rugs and Poufs placed over rugs gave us each a comfortable place to sit and gather with each other. Their tables are hand crafted by Henry, he truly is a master at what he does. You could also use pallets which would be another very affordable, or even free option. This took the Friendsgiving decor to a whole different level of greatness!

The girls from Em/Co Hospitality were a major star of this Friendsgiving. Their Friendsgiving menu ideas were PERFECT for this occasion, and simple to duplicate! They made this such a memorable experience and they served us a 5 course dinner. These dishes were some of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. My favorite were the Skillet Pot Pies. Each course was unique and created specially for us. I loved each of the Friendsgiving appetizers as well. The Shredded Brussels Sprouts and Ricotta Toasts were AMAZING. I had to stop myself after 5 of them. They chose courses that were easy to eat while being outside, and easy to share family style. The Pumpkin Cheesecake pops were also incredible! Such an easy and fun dish for a crowd! ( blog post coming soon on the food!) Most of all, they put so much love and hard work into crafting this up for us.

I went for a very easy and affordable setting on the tables. I used fresh and dried Eucalyptus and florals, and of course Pumpkins that I picked up at our local farmers market. I already had pretty brass candlesticks, So I incorporated those into the tables-cape as well. Simple and classy. I love mixing traditional festive holiday colors with pastels. If you know me, I love color, So i always throw a pop of color into every event I do. I designed and printed menus over at Canva. I use this app for so many things! It’s very easy to work with and let’s you create something really unique.

I picked up the blush cotton napkins at World Market. They have so many colors to choose from, and they are very affordable. I also picked up the gold-rimmed dishes at Hobby Lobby, and used colorful China from my own collection. Remember, whatever type of gathering you have, you probably have so much already at home that you could use. It helps save money , and brings a little bit of your personality into the picture. I feel it’s more authentic that way! Hosting events doesn’t always have to be super expensive.

Dinner would not be complete if we weren’t all snapping pretty photos of our meals! That’s what happens when you get a bunch of bloggers and creatives together! My husband always says, ”we used to eat our food!”. But food this pretty should be documented!

Whatever you do this season, remember to not only have fun when hosting your loved ones, but to be grateful for all you have! These moments should be cherished and remembered for they are special!
